These pictures are from the 2009 NEA Human and Civil Rights banquet where Mrs. Clara Luper was the recipient of the Rosa Parks award. Both Vicki Vaughan and I were students of Mrs. Luper and we were very disappointed she was unable to attend do to illness.
The NEA asked me to accept the award in Mrs. Luper's behalf, and it was an honor and privilege to get to share with all of those present.
